Civilization changes
hurried by technology.
Hand held devices
allow instant contact
anytime
with friends, business,
entertainment,
social media
pervading all.

Earlier culture,
performing arts
no longer fast enough
to compel interest
in tik-tok minds
as info moves faster.
Theatre, opera, ballet,
now too slow
except for graybeards,
production costs
so expensive,
impractical for the few
who may be consoled
that hand held devices
can connect them
to performance past
providing enjoyment
for those not part of
prevailing taste.
