Reflective

Acceptance

Sitting waiting
as the grim crepuscule
of today approaches.
With dozens of reasons
to suffer in the course
of a lifetime.

Then, moonlight glinting
through the branches.
And a call
for nature’s grace.
I have seen the green valley,
or was it just my dream?

And now I sit
in these empty halls
with tears of perseverance.
But it’s winter,
and you can almost
see my prayer.
