Happy Thanksgiving

On this quiet morning,
before the ovens warm
and the world leans into its rituals,
I sit with a cup cooling in my hands
and think of you—
the ones who send us poems
in the late night hours,
the ones who read them
on lunch breaks, on train rides,
in the stillness before bed.

I think of the words you trust us with—
your childhood memories,
loves and losses,
your small, private victories
tucked in the folds of stanza and line.

You give us the landscape of your lives,
and we walk through it carefully,
thankful for every moment
you choose to share.

This place—
our little corner of the literary world—
exists because of you.
Your courage to write.
Your willingness to read.
Your trust in us to hold your words
as something worth keeping.

So on this day of thanks,
know that we see you,
we hear you,
and we carry your stories with care.

May your table be warm,
your memories kind,
your heart just a little lighter
for having shared this space with us.

From all of us at Poetry Habitat—
thank you.
For your words,
your presence,
your belief that poetry still matters.

Happy Thanksgiving.
