World in Love

The world is in love.

Didn’t you know?

It proclaims it every time

its wind ruffles

your hair,

like a lover’s

fingers,

when its sun dapples

your cheeks,

like a lover’s

lips,

when its moon rises,

gazing at you,

like a lover’s

eyes,

when its air

hears you sing,

like a lover’s

ears,

when its birds

sing back to you,

like a lover’s

voice,

when it’s autumn mist

feels the shape of you,

like a lover’s

hands,

and when its and your

tea warms you,

like a lover’s

embrace.

If you pay attention,

and look, and listen,

you can feel,

and see, and hear,

the world confess

its love for you,

and when the world says “I love you”,

say

“I love you too”.
